What to Look for in a Skateboard Backpack
When seeking a backpack for your
electric skateboard, be sure to consider the size, first and foremost. If the
backpack doesn’t fit your board, it’s of little use to you. Most backpacks will
fit up to a 34-inch board, but there are plenty of bags that suit longer shapes.
Once you find a backpack that accommodates
your board’s size, check out the material it’s composed of, as well as the
hardware. Does it seem durable? Is it waterproof – or at least water-resistant?
Do the zippers glide smoothly? Are there extra pockets for other things you may
want to take along? Is there room to store your helmet in there too? These are
all important things to consider when looking for a high-quality skateboard
backpack. You should also double-check the seams and zippers, ensuring they’re sturdy
and won’t fall apart after a couple of uses.
Additionally, you should check if
the straps or chords that secure the skateboard to the bag are robust. You
don’t want the board falling off while you’re walking around. Make sure you
also feel how heavy the bag is. If the bag already weighs a few pounds, it’s
going to be even heavier with a board in it. As such, it’s wise to bring your
current board along for your shopping trip. This allows you to manually test if
it’s too heavy to carry around.
Finally, take a look at your budget.
How much are you willing to spend? The prices range drastically, depending on
the brand and the material the backpack is made
of. For a quality backpack, you shouldn’t need to pay more than $100.
Anything more expensive is charging you for the design or look of the bag,
rather than how it actually functions.
